The Ones We've Lost...

My First Horse

Horses are in My Blood

I started riding consistently in 1986 while pursuing my formal education in equestrian studies at The Ohio State University. Since then, I've had the privilege of exploring various disciplines, including breeze riding, dressage, harness racing, starting and reschooling, providing riding lessons and mounted patrol operations - It didn't take long to realize that trail riding is my true passion.

Although I don't consider myself a breed-specific horse enthusiast, my aging body truly appreciates the advantages of a smooth-gaited trail horse. Throughout the years, I've owned several breeds for trail riding, each with its own unique build and personality, including Quarter Horses, a Belgian/Thoroughbred cross, Paso Finos, Appaloosas, an Arab/Appaloosa, Tennessee Walkers, and a Morgan cross. Additionally, I've had the pleasure riding other breeds such as Haflingers, Missouri Fox Trotters, Standardbreds, Hanoverians, gaited and non-gaited mules, and a variety of wonderful grade horses.

Currently, I trail ride with a 2018 model roany, Tennessee Walker gelding and a 2013 model, black gaited cross, gelding who also has a big trot. We're unsure of his breed and origin since he was found as a malnourished weanling by a roadside in the park where I work.

In addition to creating stunning keepsakes, I have a passion for photography and have been an advocate for horse trails for nearly four decades.
